Small Space Big Style Decorating Ideas

Pix from Better Homes and Gardens
You don't have to settle for drab in your new apartment. It's possible to add color in ways you can take with you if you decide to upgrade.
1. Use colorful boxes to small items in bookshelves: They add color and interest to your space rather then trying to find that perfect art piece.
2. Add a whimsical chair:   A flea market find or an unfinished one-they are inexpensive and you can custom paint it a vivid color.
3. Find a high pile area rug: it  can double as comfy floor seating.
4. Art that's apartment friendly:  Don't damage your small space walls! Make your own wallpaper-wrapped around dowel rods at top and bottom -from small eye hooks installed in the the wall.
5. Bright light: Not enough light in your small space? Try up lights (small lamp lights positioned from the floor) and position them in dreary corners of your apartment. They are inexpensive and are out of the way.
6. Add dept: Give a blank wall depth by hanging a landscape picture that has a clear horizon line.It will give your small apartment space the illusion of depth.
7. Bounce light off your walls: Use mirrors in tight corners of your small space-it works best if it is opposite a window if possible. It adds dimension as well as more light.

There are so many ways to decorate on a budget to make any rental feel like a home! Thanks for reading and see you soon!
